Are there any wireable devices that provide reverse polarity protection on a 12VDC circuit?
I may suggest taking a look at the axial leaded diodes if one of these can be direct-wired into your project. Filter offering for your current rating. https://www.digikey.com/short/3f27wfwq
A series connected diode with a sufficient current capability is the easiest way. However that will reduce the available voltage by 0.25V to 1.2V depending on the specific diode chosen and the current drawn.
I was thinking maybe there was a small board assembly that contained a diode and a fuse, with leads coming off it that may already exist, but I can create my own circuit.
