68H68S1 Cross or alternative?

Morning All,

I have a control unit with an IC marked 68HC68S1. I have found what I believe to be the correct datasheet for the unit based on the circuit it is used in.

I am wondering if anyone can help with a cross/alternative?

It is an old IC… :laughing:

One other note, it is the 20-SOIC version, but I would be willing to work with a different package and make it work if that was the only option.

I had a look and did not find any alternatives to this chip. Seems like CAN Bus has taken over this space.
