A resistor is "is available for purchase but is not normally stocked."

I from time to time purchase this resistor at quantities of 50 or so:

NFR25H0002200JR500 Vishay Beyschlag/Draloric/BC Components | Through Hole Resistors | DigiKey

Well the substitute listed on there is not the same as above: Flame Proof, Fusible, Safety Metal Film

I am confused as every few months when I type that resistor it still stated “is available for purchase but is not normally stocked”. Yet when I use Qwant or findchips website I see other suppliers carrying it in stock. When is DigiKey Canada going to stock this?. Thank you.

While using yandex search engine I came across this from Vishay stating there was a fire at one of their plants in South Korea, but according to that memo this particular value of resistor is made in Fort Worth, Texas, USA and Singapore:

Greetings,

I don’t see any indications that the item in question will be added as a stocked item any time soon.

Resistors are one of the most fungible classes of components in the industry, and it’s simply not feasible to stock every product variant from every manufacturer on the line card. These are a few options that DigiKey does stock having similar characteristics and which are specifically labeled as fusible, with substantially more options available if that particular label is negotiable for your purposes.
