------Question for AWR2944EVM Please Put your question below------
I am considering purchasing this product and would like to speak with a representative from DigiKey Korea.
Can the radar detect and identify objects within the range of 200m to 6m?
Is purchasing only this product sufficient, or do I need additional kits?
Since my application requires high precision for aviation-related purposes, is this product suitable?
Do I only need the AWR2944EVM, or is the DCA100EVM also required?
Based on recent information, the DCA100EVM can be used with a PC to transmit and receive sensor data from the AWR2944EVM. Is this correct?
What is the development environment for the AWR2944EVM—Embedded Linux or Windows?
I tried to arrange a meeting regarding this matter, but it has not been easy. Thank you.
Hello, Kahnit. Welcome to TechForum!
While I cannot arrange contact with anyone from Korea at this time, I can step through these inquiries.

Please see TI’s application note on mMWave range vs. objects, here: mmWave Radar Sensors: Object Versus Range (Rev. A) . The device’s range depends heavily on what you’re trying to detect.

Again, this depends on what you’re trying to do. This is an EVM board that is meant to be all you need to begin development using the components it demos, but at some point for a full-flight application you will likely need to acquire other components.
Since my application requires high precision for aviation-related purposes, is this product suitable?
Unfortunately this question is too broad for me to answer properly, as the specifics of your application would determine the answer. I would say that this product would be suitable for familiarizing yourself with mmWave technology so you can determine if it’s the right fit for your purposes as that is the board’s intended function, but the board itself is unlikely to be useful in an end application.
Do I only need the AWR2944EVM, or is the DCA100EVM also required?
The DCA1000EVM is a DAQ eval board that can help you more fully evaluate a system you’re prototyping, but it is not required for AWR2944EVM to function. The two are designed to be compatible for those that wish to use both ICs, but they’re also functional independently of each other.

Yes.
What is the development environment for the AWR2944EVM—Embedded Linux or Windows?
The boards look to be set up for use on a Windows PC. There are third-party software downloads available from Linux users online that provide tools for using the boards with Linux, however.
Would this help get you started?
