Capacitive touchscreen edge seal

Does anyone know of a thin tape made to seal the edges of a metal box opening for a capacitive touchscreen? Im not sure if it needs to be a conductive/absorptive seal for RFI but it most likely would help if it is.

It kind of depends if the tape is somehow going to be providing a conductive path to ground or not. Is the metal box acting as a ground path for the inner circuit in this instance?

Good question. Ill have to look at the PCB design I got from the web and see if its mounting holes are isolated or not. Its a two board deal, the display is connected to the cpu board by a 10 wire ribbon connector and I’m not sure but its probably bonded to circuit ground and chassis through the ground planes on the boards and the wire going to power supply ground.

I just checked, and ground plane of pc board of the CPU unit is connected through to the display board, and all is connected to the enclosure chassis ground via the PC board mounting holes.

Okay, since the case is acting as a chassis ground, you may want to consider conductive tape to maintain continuity. Here are some RFI tapes that have conductive material that may help you:
