We are looking for a dataset to statistically analyze an gain knowledge.
For example energy density vs. voltage or energy density vs. size etc.
There may be a very niche market, where common battery technology is not viable for energy storage.
We would like to make calculations if it is possible for us to develop a product for it.
Would it be possible to do get an increase of the API restrictions? Especially the offset limit is very restrictive.
My technique when confronted with similar situations is to shrink the solution space using known information and heuristics;
Obsolete products aren’t likely candidates for new designs
Product classes with costs in the dollar per pF range aren’t likely candidates for bulk energy storage applications
Each example of a commoditized product doesn’t need to be evaluated separately; if one example of a 0.1uF/16v ceramic in 0805 package is nonviable by a factor of 100, it’s unlikely that any of the other ~200 examples of the same will magically be 100x better.
Building a massive array of devices known for pyrotechnic failure stemming from assembly-induced defect probably isn’t the world’s greatest idea.
I enjoy the luxury of a comprehensive dataset myself, but in truth many questions of this type do not require it.

You are right about this as well. We are set on a range since early on. But to statistically confirm previous finding would be nice.
