I’m looking for a tin socket contact version of A9BAG-0603F. AI suggested A9BAA-0603F version had tin contacts, but AI might be delusional. When I looked at the “Assembly components” between the two versions on Digi-Key, they list identical components. So what’s the difference between those, and what tin contact alternatives do I have?
My PCBA vendor put tin headers where they were supposed to put gold flash headers, and to avoid the eventual galvanic corrosion, I want them to match with the cable’s socket contacts.
Hello,
I looked into these two and confirmed that they are assembled out of the same part numbers, so they will both have gold finishes for the connector. Unfortunately, I was unable to find a tin alternative to this in our system.
@joelD Welcome to DigiKey TechForum!
To add on Rob’s reply, the main difference between the two cable assemblies lies in the socket contacts used.
2-487406-2 vs. 2-487406-3
Both contacts are gold‑plated, with the only difference being the plating thickness.
2-487406-4 has gold plating on crimp area only, but we don’t have a cable assembly with this socket contact.
Best regards.
