I need a couple of parts to repair a vintage computer. Specifically, two variable resistors, one 500K and the other 500M. I see a VERY similar part to what I need, but not the exact one. The 118-PDB241-E420K-504B0-ND has a “knurled” shaft for the dial to mount to but the pot I am replacing has a “flattened” shaft. This would make the third section of the part number “E420F.” I don’t see that variety in inventory and it doesn’t come up when I use the substitute search.
Am I missing something, or would this be a special order? I’m half-tempted to just Dremel off part of the knurled shaft and call it good.
