Do capacitors have to be the same colour when replacing them I am looking for the following 100 uf of 16v wv and 0.22uf 50 wv these are for repairing a home music centre I have enclosed a pics and what it says in the replacement dig
No, on an electrolytic capacitor the color of the plastic insulating overwrap is a just a branding/decorative choice by the manufacturer. Often it’s one of the official corporate logo colors.
All you need to match is the capacitance, voltage and size.

A long time ago I worked in a shop where we would open and then install modern materials into Twistlock capacitors. The EOM radio and vacuum tube amplifier loyalists would pay a considerable sum for the service.
