We are looking to purchase Ferrites for existing Tripp Lite USB 3.2 Gen 1 SuperSpeed Cable (A to B m/m black 10ft. 3.05m) and wanted a snap-on ferrite that would fit our existing Tripp-Lite cable outer diameter of 5.5mm. We’re looking at Ferrites ZCAT1730-0730A-BK however the inner Dimensions listed is 7mm, question will this ferrite fit the Tripp Lite cable with a outer Dia of 5.5mm. Please feel free to propose a different product if needed.

A 5.5mm cable should certainly fit through a 7mm bore, though there’s some question of how much of a difference between the two can be accommodated before the ferrite starts slipping along the cable’s length; many such products have some provisions to take up the gap, but there’s a handful of others listed here for which the gap is smaller, if needed.
Beyond that, there may be question as to whether the magnetic properties of a given product are suited to your needs. Absent a defined specification for such, auditioning a few candidates to find one that seems to work is a common approach.
