Four Layer DKRed from KiCAD

I see lots of similar posts, but no real solutions.

I am developing my first 4 layer board and when I upload it to the PCB builder, it does not automatically detect a four layer board. I add them manually as “inner copper” layers, but can’t view them. I made sure to click the “4 layer” option in “Measurments, Size, Spacing”, but is there a way to verify that everything is OK without waiting for my boards to come back?

I’ll reach out to get your Zip file archive if thats OK to take a look see if something stands out.

Actually, I think I solved my own problem. I have been spoiled by the seamless interaction between KiCAD and PCB Builder for 2 layer boards.

I renamed all my copper layers to x.copper instead of x.gbr, and while I still had to set them as inner-copper layers, they became visible.

Thats great to hear. Thank you for sharing your fix and thank you for your interest in PCB Builder.

Thanks, one more question.

Can DKRed have a non-rectangular board? No curves just a fat cross shape. No internal routing.

PCB Builder seemed to accept it, but I thought I would check to make sure.

Should be fine.

Non-rectangular boards are OK as long as there is no internal cutouts.
