Need to know if this is compatible with a ASUS ExpertCenter P500 Mini Tower (P500MV)
psu that came with pc is 180w that is way to weak need to upgrade it the psu connects to the board with a 4 and 6 pin connector
Hello and welcome to the TechForum! It looks like this should be a valid option, it is the same TFX form factor with the same efficiency rating at a higher max power output. Unfortunately I don’t have full access to the specifications for the PSU that ASUS used in the tower, so I can’t verify that this is compatible with 100% certainty.
They recommend speaking to an ASUS technician to help with PSU issues, though I understand that when you’re modding the unit you might not be inclined to do so. For what it’s worth the original PSU unit should have a label on the chassis with more complete specifications.
Looking at the photos that you provided. The power supply only outputs 12V, which then the motherboard regulates the power to the CPU and other components. This makes sourcing a PSU replacement or upgrade more challenging.
These components are what regulate the power from the power supply.
The FSP350-50TAC has additional 5V and 3.3V supplies that would be unused.
At this time, I do not see that we have a power supply in our system to accommodate your search for a higher wattage power supply.
