Grounding considerations for FN2200-25-33

------Question for FN2200-25-33 Please Put your question below------

Hello, I recently bought 4 FN2200-25-33 filters for my solar system, I am retrofitting my existing system with them, the method of connecting them to the cells is obvious, however the ground lug is more difficult, I already have my PVs grounded separately from AC ground onto a dedicated ground rod, my questions are as follows:

  1. Do I need to reroute my groundwire to pass through my filters, I can do this, but it will be quite difficult.
  2. Alternately, can I leave my PV grounds as they exist, and tie another ground wire/rod into the filter and into earth on a dedicated ground rod.

Forgive me if this is detailed somewhere else, I have not found any instructions of how to install these.

Attached are some (very poor) rough sketches of my existing layout, and what I propose.

After getting a good night’s sleep for once in a month I believe I was thinking about this wrongly, the lug is clearly bonded to the casing of the filter, meaning it would not be safe to bond to my existing PV array, therefore it must the grounded directly to earth.

It is to prevent shocks in the case of a short-to-casing.
