### Hardware and System Requirements for STMicroelectronics’ X-NUCLEO-IKS4A1 Expansion Board

**[STMicroelectronics](https://www.digikey.cn/en/supplier-centers/stmicroelectronics) Expansion Board [X-NUCLEO-IKS4A1](https://www.digikey.cn/en/products/detail/stmicroelectronics/X-NUCLEO-IKS4A1/21777487):** A motion MEMS and environmental sensor evaluation board kit.

#### Introduction to X-NUCLEO-IKS4A1

This expansion board supports testing the functions of motion MEMS accelerometers, gyroscopes, magnetometers, as well as environmental humidity, temperature, and pressure sensors via the I²C bus. It also enables comprehensive testing of all functions of the [LSM6DSO16IS](https://www.digikey.cn/en/products/filter/imu-%E6%83%AF%E6%80%A7%E6%B5%8B%E9%87%8F%E8%A3%85%E7%BD%AE/567?s=N4IgTCBcDaIDIGUCyA2AIgg8gRhQSQQAIQBdAXyA) and [LSM6DSV16X](https://www.digikey.cn/en/products/detail/stmicroelectronics/LSM6DSV16XTR/16841485), Qvar touch/slide gestures, and connection to the [STHS34PF80](https://www.digikey.cn/en/products/detail/fresnel-factory-inc/TMOS10-12030-FOR-STHS34PF80-EVK-WHITE/19200633) infrared sensor for presence detection.

#### Hardware Requirements

- The [X-NUCLEO-IKS4A1](https://www.digikey.cn/en/products/detail/stmicroelectronics/X-NUCLEO-IKS4A1/21777487) expansion board must be used with an [STM32 Nucleo development board](https://www.digikey.cn/en/products/filter/%E5%B5%8C%E5%85%A5%E5%BC%8F-mcu-dsp-%E8%AF%84%E4%BC%B0%E6%9D%BF/786?s=N4IgTCBcDaIMoBUCyBmMACAcgVwMYBsBTAe3RAF0BfIA).
- **Connection method** : Insert the X-NUCLEO-IKS4A1 into the corresponding pins of any STM32 Nucleo development board via the Arduino UNO R3 interface.
- **Note** : Components on the X-NUCLEO-IKS4A1 are sensitive to electrostatic discharge (ESD), and the onboard male/female through-hole connectors are fragile. Avoid bending or damaging the pins during handling.

#### System Requirements

- **Operating System** : Windows® (7/8/10) computer
- **Cable** : USB Type A to Mini-B cable (for connecting the STM32 Nucleo to the computer)
- **Firmware and Software Package** : Onboard firmware and the X-CUBE-MEMS1 software package (must be pre-installed on the computer)
