I currently want to erase data from a SAS server HDD, but I’m not sure if the “SDOCK1EU3P2” erasing device can handle it.

This adapter is SATA only, doesn’t understand SAS commands:
Look at: SATSASDUPE11 StarTech.com | Accessories | DigiKey
which supports both SAS/SATA and has an erase function..
