Do these rechargeable batteries [ICR26650-5000-F](https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/pkcell/ICR26650-5000-F/11629983) have an internal battery management system (BMS) or are they unprotected? As you may know, protected cells include a small internal electronic circuit board (BMS) to prevent dangerous conditions like over-charging. Unprotected cells are typically used by professionals building tool battery packs with their own external BMS. This is important since my battery pack build already has a BMS. I look forward to your reply, Kind regards Ed

Hello,

The data sheet and the manufacturer’s website do not say anything about any protection of any kind.
