IDC777 Bluetooth HFP module: can PCM/I2S input feed mSBC hands-free uplink?

------Question for IDC777-1 Please Put your question below------

Hi everyone,

I’m evaluating the IDC777 Bluetooth audio module, or a similar DigiKey-available module, for an embedded hands-free voice project.

The datasheet lists HFP/HSP, Wide Band Speech, UART control, and digital audio interfaces such as PCM/I2S/SPDIF.

My key requirement is specific:

Can externally supplied digital audio on PCM or I2S be used as the microphone source for HFP Hands-Free uplink to a phone?

I am not looking for A2DP input, analog microphone input, or a general “I2S supported” answer. I need the digital input to feed the HFP/SCO/eSCO voice uplink.

Questions:

  1. Does the standard IDC777 AudioAgent firmware support HFP Hands-Free role with mSBC/Wide Band Speech?

  2. Can external PCM or I2S input be selected as the HFP microphone/uplink source?

  3. Can it accept already-processed 16 kHz mono PCM from an external DSP and transmit it over HFP mSBC?

  4. Can far-end call audio be output over PCM/I2S, or only analog?

  5. What UART command or configuration selects the HFP microphone source and audio routing?

  6. Can onboard DSP, noise reduction, AGC, or echo processing be bypassed/minimized?

  7. Is this supported by the standard shipped firmware, or would custom firmware be required?

  8. Is there a command manual or application note that explicitly documents HFP audio routing over PCM/I2S?

Any confirmation, app notes, command references, or alternative module suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.
