Is it straightforward to remove the enclosure of the MM8108-EKH01-01?

Two questions:

  1. Is it straightforward to remove the enclosure of the MM8108-EKH01-01?
  2. Is it possible to directly connect a capacitive touchscreen via MIPI DSI?

Hello jtrachewsky,

Welcome to the DigiKey TechForum! I was not able to find any documentation regarding the enclosure. Because there are boards without the enclosures, such as 6335-MM8108-EKH05-01-ND, I believe the enclosure is not meant to be removed for the MM8108-EKH01-01.

In regard to the capacitive touchscreen, they only list the interfaces as mini-HDMI for the display. However, I believe the Raspberry Pi 4B has a MIPI DSI interface on it, but the issues with this I’m also not certain how the MorseMicro hat sits on top of the Raspberry Pi..

Although it might support MIPI DSI as much as the Raspberry Pi 4B does natively, because they use the term “fully enclosed” for the board and hat, they do not have any documentation for removing the enclosure, and I do not see anything regarding how the hat sits on the board, I do not recommend removing the enclosure.
