------Question for [ACR1252U](https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/carlo-gavazzi-inc/ACR1252U/25585952) Please Put your question below------

Is this the standard Advanced Card Systems (ACS) ACR1252U USB NFC Reader III, or a version customised by Carlo Gavazzi? Which ACS order code is it (e.g. ACR1252U-M1)? Does it run standard ACS firmware and work as a PC/SC (CCID) reader with the standard ACS Windows drivers? The only linked datasheet is for the DPD relay. Is the ACS reader datasheet available?

The linked datasheet being the DPD relay document is actually expected: Carlo Gavazzi lists the ACR1252U as their own compatible component, a USB NFC reader/writer whose documented purpose is interfacing a DPD NFC relay with a PC that has no NFC built in. For that use they provide their own NFC driver packages and the DPD desktop app through their productselection download portal. Whether the unit is a re-badged ACS ACR1252U is not stated there; the identical name hints at it, but that is only a guess. The DPD datasheet does not mention ACS, PC/SC or CCID at all, so standard ACS firmware and driver compatibility is unconfirmed from the Carlo Gavazzi side. If you need a generic PC/SC reader rather than the DPD tool, I would ask Carlo Gavazzi support directly or pick the ACS-branded version, whose documentation on the ACS site explicitly covers PC-linked operation.
