I am specifying a laser and need to know how to get the pump to go with it

Answers will vary depending on whether one speaks of an optical pump, cooling pump, or something else. Either would likely be an item available from the laser manufacturer.
Hi it’s a 30mw Osram laser Diode that gets reduced down to 5mw via a pump, driven by a pair of AAA’s. We have the diode, wondering if it’s normal for the diode manufacturer to sell the pump too. Ive normally heard of the chip in it’s housing to be referred to as a “pump”. Osram California is impossible to contact-none of their numbers work anymore.
Such a “pump” is in all likelihood integral to the device, in context of the low-power modular devices mentioned.
