Hi there,
does anyone has an idea what this part is? I thought a varistor but in an encasing? Is there a replacement?
Thanks and Greetings

Hello carsten.frey,
Everything I’m finding, indicates a Metal Oxide Varistor, that is a blue disc, about 14-17mm diameter. I don’t know if this is the exact same, just in an encasement or not.
Searching the part number on our site, I found a Marketplace product 5789-14D911K-ND.
The closest alternate that we have in stock at our facility, is part number 118-MOV-14D911KK-ND.
Please check the datasheet to help verify compatibility to your application.
I agree that it’s a varistor (a.k.a. MOV) with that part numbering, though I’ve never seen one with that white ceramic casing.
The “14” calls out the diameter of a typical disc – 14mm.
The “911” calls out the typical varistor voltage – 910V.
Some varistors handle more energy than others with a given size. Here’s a link to some additional 14mm options listed from highest to lowest energy handling capability.
