Hello,
I’m having some troubles to make Mangoh Yellow work. I first tried with a Micropross SIM Tracer connected, and when I connected Mangoh yellow to it, the tracer showed VCC Activation, VCC deactivation every second almost. After that, and to troubleshoot I tried only connecting Mangoh Yellow to the USB, with no Break out board, no SIM, nothing, and the pwr light is green when I turn it on, but after some time, it is half yellow, half red, and the other two lights follow the next sequence: first light yellow, then turns off, second light red, then green, then blue, then it turns off and starts with first light in yellow again. What does that sequence mean. ChatGPT says it is somehow blocked. When I connect the SIM it makes the same sequence. I tried to reset it and it keeps doing the same sequence…
Thanks in advance for your help!
When connecting it to the computer, the following appears in Device Manager screen:
If I try to ping the default IP address 192.168.2.2, it does not respond. It seems the WP7611 is not working properly. Should I request a replacement?
@flaviobruns
It maybe that requesting a replacement is the direction that is needed.
Would you have the specific item number you had ordered?
Would you have the invoice number for the order?
I can then see if I can get more information that can help further troubleshoot the issue.
Hello,
The item Part number is 1788-MANGOHYELLOW_WP7611-ND.

@flaviobruns
I have submitted an inquiry.
I will let you know what they indicate when I hear back.
Hello,
Is there any news on this? Or should I just request a replacement?
Thank you and best regards.
@flaviobruns
I am sorry for the delay, I am still waiting on information back from the manufacturer.
@flaviobruns
The manufacturer has responded with recommending trying another board for the 1788-MANGOHYELLOW_WP7611-ND.
I will also e-mail you via the other ticket you had opened too.
Hi Nathan,
Thanks foe the response. Do you mean trying with the replacement I requested?
Thank you and best regards.
Hi Nathan,
following up on this. As I have two devices and both are doing the same light sequence (after trying to take traces with a Micropross tracer, and after some VCC activation/deactivation, I restarted the device and it started doing the same sequence), I used one to test different things:
- I installed the drivers for WP7611 from Sierra Wireless webpage.
- However, when connecting the device to the computer, I did not see any AT ports to be able to send AT commands (I only see DM and NMEA ports). Are there any other drivers to be installed for that? In that case, where can I download them? I did a quick search, and it seems QDLoader driver from Sierra Wireless is necessary for that, but I’m not able to find it anywhere. Do you know where?
- I downloaded Developer Studio from Sierra Wireless webpage.
- I tried flashing the firmware, but it did not work. Surprisingly, when I connected the device to Developer Studio it said that Legato version in this device was not supported, so I guess that’s why it was not able to flash the firmware? Is there any way to make Developer Studio support that version of the firmware? Besides that, the devMode application crashed when I connected the device. I guess also because the Legato version is not supported by my Developer Studio.
- The firmware version is 20.04.0, so I downloaded and installed a new version from Sierra Wireless webpage. After that, the light sequence stopped and there was a fixed yellow light in PWR. The latest one for WP7611 from Sierra Wireless was the Release 16.3. However, after installing it and connecting the device in the Developer Studio, the new version (19.11.6: source.sierrawireless.com/resources/airprime/software/wp76xx/wp76xx-firmware-release-16,-d-,3/) was also not supported. Now I’m not sure how to go back to 20.04.0, as I can’t find that version in the Sierra Wireless webpage. Do you know where?
- In any case, is there any way to get a newer version of the firmware with Sierra Wireless as Carrier approval for the Developer Studio to be able to support it?
- Is there any additional driver to be installed for me to be able to send AT commands? I only want to check that the device can read the SIM card correctly.
Thank you in advance.
