NI USB-6453 removable spring terminals and other connector options

------Question for 789884-01 Please Put your question below------

Hi,
I am interested in purchasing the NI USB-6453 and noticed that there are two available versions — one with spring-terminal connectors and one labeled as OEM.
Could you please clarify the exact differences between these two options, especially regarding:

  1. Whether the spring-terminal connectors on the standard version are removable or replaceable,

  2. and if there is any connector or cable option available that allows me to interface the device (either version) directly to a custom PCB or breakout board.

    Thank you in advance. Best,
    Frauke Niebel

Hello frauke.nbl,

Welcome to the DigiKey Techforum.

We only carry the spring terminal USB-6453, so that is what we would have information about.

According to the 2D Drawing on the manufacture’s website, the spring terminals are a pluggable connector that is removeable.

Also on the manufacture’s website, are the USB-6453 and USB-6453 OEM specifications, and the USB-6453 and USB-6453 OEM User Manual. You can click on those links to view them.

Hi @David_1768 ,

Thanks a lot for your quick response. Yes, I think you are correct and the spring terminals are removable. I just found these two pictures next to each other, so I think you can unscrew the spring terminals:
