Olimex is a supplier of testing, measurement, and development tools for embedded applications, which includes their SNS-TMP-DS18B20-MAXIM digital temperature probe. Recently we’ve received some concerns about shipments of these probes which have arrived with differing lengths of heat shrink over the output end of the probe. Is this a quality issue for these probes?
The dimensions of the actual probe are 6mm x 50mm; this is a controlled dimension. The length of the heat shrinking on the rear of the probe is not a strictly controlled dimension however. Precise length of this heat shrink does not affect the product’s form, fit or function, and different lengths of heat shrinking would not be considered a quality issue with the products.
