Omron Optical Sensors

Frequently asked questions about Omron’s, Optical Sensors

What are the conditions to properly solder my sensor?

All soldering information is listed on the datasheet. If not specified, through-hole soldering should be performed with hand soldering at 350 degrees for 3 seconds and flow at 260 degrees for 10 seconds (both of which are terminal temperatures). Please handle it by priority in case of the specified specification. For SMD, please refer to the catalog or soldering condition of the specification.

How can I decode the lot code on my sensor?
In the case of 3 digits

  • First digit: Produced date
  • 2nd digit: Produced month
  • 3rd digit: The last number of produced year

In the case of 4 digits

  • First digit: Produced date
  • 2nd digit: Produced month
  • 3rd digit: The last number of produced year
  • 4th digit: Produced place code

*If you have an exception more or less than 3rd or 4th digit, we will have to request the lot code information from Omron. You can find the Omron documentation here: https://www.components.omron.com/documents/35730/96652/how-to-read_the_lotnumber.pdf/f92cb20a-2fc5-25ef-838e-9633d7b06bb2
