Peak Electronic Design produces a select range of specialized measurement equipment, including their ESR70 ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance) meter. Recently we’ve seen a number of questions on why this device is shipping out with grabber hook leads, rather than the alligator leads many previous users of the device are familiar with. Is this a misshipment issue?
This isn’t a misshipment at all. Per Peak’s May 2026 PCN for this device, the supplier opted to replace the alligator leads with grabber hooks to improve customer usability. This is normal and expected, though existing alligator leads can still be used if your specific process requires alligator clips rather than grabber hooks.
