datasheets suggested a little hole in housing, is not there.
how do i find pin 1 (etc).

For the LMR33630ADDAR in the 8-PowerSOIC, pin one is indicated by the side of the part with the beveled edge, as show in the image below from page 54 of the datasheet pdf.
