Pin Protrusion on Mill-Max 0900-2-15-20-75-14-11-0 Contact Spring

If you have observed pin protrusion or dislodgement issues with Mill-Max Manufacturing Corp. part 0900-2-15-20-75-14-11-0, as shown in the image below, please note that we have clarified this with the manufacturer.

According to the manufacturer, the following is their response:

"The bottom cap protruding slightly is normal and should be expected on occasion when buying any of our spring pins. The location that the customer is highlighting is a press-fit junction where the cap is pressed into the body. Given tolerances, it is not possible for them to all be the same. Some will be flush, while others will either slightly protrude or be recessed. This is not an issue and there should be no adverse effects because of it.

As for guidance regarding pin dislodgment, if the pin coming out likely means that their hole size is too small and it is compressing the body to the point where the press-fit junction is weakening. We only specify a light press-fit for the spring pins where the hole is controlled tightly to .063” +0/-.001”. If that isn’t the case, then it may have something to do with their assembly process."
