Once the rush rod is extended, what is needed to retract the rod?
While there isn’t a lot of documentation available, I do believe it’s a simple non-latching actuator. This means that you just cut power to the input and it should retract. Their description on their site gave me some insight on this: “This time DFRobot brings you an electric push rod. Despite a mini body, it comes with a thrust of up to 128N and a stroke of 10mm when powered by a voltage of 6V.”
I agree that documentation is limited for this part.
However, noting that it is categorized under the “DC Motors” group on the DFRobot website and seeing its action in the video there, showing it slowly extend and retract, I’m inclined to think it may use an internal screw motor to extend and retract the cylinder.
This would mean that one probably must reverse polarity on the leads to retract the cylinder. Again, I have not found good documentation to back up that theory, but it sure looks like that to me.
