Replacing the LED chip

Hi, I am new at forum and I have a question regarding LED chip.

I am trying to change the LED chip on lamp, which consist of four LED lights (chips) in series. Driver was damaged, so I already change it. But the lamps where blinking with new driver also. So I exclude the damaged LED chip and now 3 LEDs are working, but I want to change the defective one to have complete lamp.

Specifications of lamp and driver: 4x LED 5W; constant current 500mA, DC 25-50V; Max 25W

I attached first power supply (defective → changed), second power supply and the LED chip (it has number on it 50B24, 19mm wide). Can you suggest replacement for this chip that can be ordered? I couldn’t find it…

Thank you very much in advance.

Hello @marko.prnaver,

Welcome to the TechForum.

DigiKey offers thousands of LED modules in the LED COBs, Engines, Modules, Strips sections.

The challenge is to find a module that can be thermally bonded to your heatsink.

Would it be possible to use those mounting holes? If yes, it may be possible to use something like this.

IMO, this is a challenging as there are so many different ways to solve the problem. Please let us know if you were successful.

Sincerely,

Aaron

Thank you for your answer.

Specifications are ok, only the diameter is bigger than the previous one. So it will probably not fit in holes. Except to use the thermal paste to glue it on heatsink.

Will let you know. Thank you.
