We recently purchased a Selec 600XU relay which we are attempting to use as a time control in a project. The intended goal is to turn the relay on immediately on the NC contact 18 to stay on for the set amount of time chosen. We have the Y1 contact set up with terminal 25 and with the third knob set to operating mode D the relay goes on for the set amount of time according to middle knob but not the first knob. For instance, irrespective of whether the first knob is set to 1s or 10m the relay turn on the same amount of time.
Hello seysan007, welcome to the TechForum! According to the user manual I found here, the control contact Y1 doesn’t do anything for Mode D. The first knob just sets a time range, 1s will be 1s to 10 seconds; 3 seconds would be 3 seconds to 30 seconds, and so on. Mode D appears to be a pulse that does seem to operate so that your contact is on for that set period, it pulses for a 500ms delay, and then it goes back to on. This may be why you are seeing a consistent signal length on contact 18 as that is the NO contact. I think you want mode B instead.
I’m not sure why the relay is not changing time, but I wonder if adding the Y1 signal may be causing an issue? I’m not entirely sure why it would. Y1 is only used in Modes C, E, F, H, I, J, K, Ai, and Bi.
