What is the material of solder dots when the FBGA has the suffix “G” for ROHS6 or “N” for ROHS5?
Hello john.mcdermott, welcome to the TechForum! Could you please provide an example part number? Some initial research shows that there may be some amount of lead in the leads of a ROHS 5 component while no lead would be found in a ROHS 6 one.
Hi Kaleb_Kohlhase. Example could be something like below
EP2AGX45CU17I5G
EP2AGX45CU17I5N
Thank you for the part numbers. I have reached out to our internal contact to see if they can provide a specification on the solder dots. I could not find a soldering guide or details on materials myself.
The difference would be in the RoHS compliance version.
If you do need the specifics please e-mail Environmental.
You would request a material declaration and a RoHS certification for both items.

I have attached the material specification for the G suffix for reference; this may be what you are looking for.

This does have descriptions of the materials for the solder balls.
