STMicroelectronics offers a diverse set of semiconductor products, including both STM8 and STM32 microcontrollers. Their STLINK-V3SET programmer is a useful tool for these micros, allowing users to easily program their devices. We’ve had a few questions lately concerning fasteners for this product, and what to use for connecting it to boards such as B-STLINK-ISOL. How does this work?
The specific screw you’ll need to connect your daughter board depends on the daughter board, but a very important note from STMicro’s user manual for this device is to only use nylon nonconductive screws. Any metal screws will short the board out and cause damage to the device; they’re expressly forbidden.
