TE Aerospace, Defense and Marine handles most of TE’s rugged-environment and hi-rel products, which includes wire splices such as 680327-000. We’ve had questions on whether splices like this come with their own heat-shrink sealing sleeves, and if not what the best way to locate those sleeves is.
Unfortunately this splice doesn’t come with any sealing sleeve, as you can easily spot by checking the “Insulation” section of its product attributes table. ‘Non-Insulated’, in this case, means the product ships without any sort of insulator material.
Finding the correct insulation sleeve is sadly not an easy 1-2-3 process. Each individual crimp splice will need to be researched independently, with no surefire solution for getting from splice to sleeve save by referencing manufacturer documentation. TE’s document for this splice series identifies 650137-000, which we discovered by reading the document and comparing the sizes of TE’s three options for sold-separately sleeves to the dimensions for this splice.
