# TE Connectivity AMP Connectors 179593-1 vs 179593-2

A recent inquiry came in asking what the difference was between [179593-1](https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/te-connectivity-amp-connectors/179593-1/1863782) and [179593-2](https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/te-connectivity-amp-connectors/179593-2/1863783). According to the [datasheet](https://www.te.com/commerce/DocumentDelivery/DDEController?Action=showdoc&DocId=Catalog+Section%7F82181_SOFTSHELL_HIGH_DENSITY%7F0508%7Fpdf%7FEnglish%7FENG_CS_82181_SOFTSHELL_HIGH_DENSITY_0508.pdf%7F179593-2) from [TE](https://www.digikey.com/en/supplier-centers/te-connectivity-amp) found on page 61 and as shown below in the snippet, the “ **-2** ” indicates a high contact pressure type. This means that the contacts will “hold on to” the mating contacts with a higher amount of force.
