TM-8811 - What's in the box

Hello support, I’m looking to purchase a TM-8811 ultrasonic meter. There are two available on DigiKey, but it is not clear what comes in the box with each. I have the datasheet, but I can’t relate what is being offered on DigiKey to what is in the datasheet. I.e. does it come with a NIST certificate? Does it come with a plastic case, probes and calibration step? Can you help me with ‘What is in the box’ for each option on DigiKey? Thank you, Graham K.

Thank you for contacting DigiKey Technical Support.

There are actually three REED Instruments TM-8811 options available through DigiKey:

  • TM-8811 – Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge

  • TM-8811-KIT – Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge with 5-Step Calibration Block

  • TM-8811-NIST – Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge & NIST

The manufacturer’s documentation provides the following information regarding what is included:

TM-8811 – Standard version

  • TM-8811 Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge

  • Ultrasonic probe

  • Ultrasonic couplant gel

  • Hard carrying case

  • 4 × AA batteries

TM-8811-KIT – Calibration Block version

  • Everything included with the standard TM-8811

  • R9060 5-Step Calibration Block

TM-8811-NIST – NIST version

  • TM-8811 Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge

  • NIST-related calibration/certification

REED lists the TM-8811-NIST as the “Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge & NIST” version, while the standard TM-8811 and TM-8811-KIT are the non-NIST configurations. (Reed Instruments)
