So we’ve designed a circuit board within Siemens PADS (Formerly Mentor Graphics) now we’re looking to convert the design files to something compatible with DigiKey DKRed custom printed board service. This example is from PADS VX.2.8.
Here are a few steps to create the design output, commonly refered to as ‘Gerber’ and Drill files.
First we need to open Define Cam Documents and select Add..
Next under Add Document, choose the Photo for Output Device and click on Device Setup
In the Photo Plotter Setup, window, click on Advanced
In Photo Plotter Setup, match the settings to the example below:
In Define Cam Documents window, select Drills and click Edit
In Edit Document for Document Type select NC Drill,, click on Drill for Output Device, and select Device Setup.
For Output Type select ASCII
# of Digits select 2 Leading and 4 Trailing
Zero Suppress None
Coordinates Absolute
