This product requires an unusual connector from brand “IRISO” that seems impossible to obtain. Only the 20-pins version can be found in suppliers. The manufacturer can send you a box from China with a lead time of 20 weeks. I’m only working on a prototype, though, I neither have the time or the resources for this.
What are my best chances to utilize this product? Is this sold with the idea someone might just go ahead and de-solder it? Is this a part utilized in some equipment where it might be replaced, justifying it to be sold here?
Without a usable connector the product is essentially “not fit for purpose”, unless I go ahead and hack it. I’m more used to see something like this on eBay, not DigiKey. I was just curious to hear, is it really normal to find products here that can’t exactly be utilized “off-the-shelf” like this? I wasn’t really expecting such a problem when buying something from this site, would probably have gone for a different product if I anticipated such difficulty.
