If I’m reading the data sheet:
correctly, the pin spacing is 1.5mm, and the pin width is 0.4mm by 0.3mm. For testing / debugging, I want to be able to connect without soldering these down, so I’m looking for a connector.
The only thing I can find that seems to have the same pin spacing and is a 1 by more than 16 is this:

But I can’t even figure out what size pin that accepts.

I’d agree that the indicated pin cross section seems to be about 0.4x0.3mm; however they appear to be meant to facilitate through-hole mounting of the display only; a corresponding connector designed for purpose does not appear to be available.
It’s not clear to me that the molex part mentioned is even designed to accommodate a “pin” per-se; 1-353908-7 plus some of the associated contacts at the bottom of that product page might be a bit closer (corresponding pin contacts appear to be 0.5mm square) but it’s still a bodge and an inconvenient one at that.
Considering that the display in question is not that expensive, making oneself a permanent adapter to a standard 0.1" header seems the most reasonable way to go if one anticipates extended prototyping with the device.

Also found that JST ZH connectors will fit the header. But they only come up to 10 pins and the 4 pin ones are common, so a set of 4 of those, trimmed and glued together are good enough for testing / debugging without having to make a PCB> I hope.
