As near as I can tell, all of the specs are the same for these two connectors. Cost is slighty different: $0.40 vs $0.44.

Great question!
The only thing I have found so far is that, although they are both considered “Low Halogen”, only the 430250408 was Low Halogen “since inception”. Every other specification seems to be identical.
As listed below, they both appear to be nylon now.
The “…0400” is an older part number. Of the two, it’s the only one that existed in our last printed catalog in 2011. My theory is that Molex came out with the “…0408” sometime later as a low-halogen option, but then they retroactively made the better known “…0400” version to be low-halogen as well.
