Hello,
Why the part number I purchased from DigiKey is AMS1117-ADJ which is adjustable but the semiconductor shows 3.3? Is this incorrect part shipped or 3.3 is adjustable for EVVO manufacturer?
Hello @chipsID
Are you saying that the marking on the components you purchased is showing 3.3 instead of ADJ? From the picture you provided, the marking appears to indicate the adjustable output variant.
Please message me your invoice number so I can investigate further.
Yes. The top marking is correct. However, the die for the part indicates it’s a 3.3V based on die topography. Invoice # < invoice number redacted >. Thanks for looking into this.
So top marking shows ADJ, but internal die shows 3.3. I feel that there’s a discrepancy.
Hi @chipsID, this is a questions you should ask the manufacture directly. But your making a small assumption, as there is a good chance, the die between the 3.3v and ADJ is actually the same exact part.
Regards,
Yes. That’s why I need confirmation rather than assumption from DigiKey.
Thank you for your follow up.
We are an authorized distributor for Evvo, as such we have the Certificate of Conformance on file for Evvo that includes the date and lot codes for this shipment.
If there was any doubt we received the incorrect product we would provide the part marking to the supplier for verification of correct product, however there is no doubt.
If you would like to talk to the supplier about the logistics of using the same die for different part numbers you would be recommended to discuss this directly with EVVOSEMI
