Hi. Wondering if digikey product, a low profile transformer is compatible with attached? Another low profile transformer from the '80s, early '90s which I pulled out of a MArtin Logan Monolith speaker. Not an engineer or tech.,etc., just need to replace transformers in both speakers since they are almost ancient. Hoping to improve the sound quality of these ageless speakers. Thank you.
Hello huchipila, welcome to the TechForum! Transformers are a bit tricky to cross. Looking at the dimensions of what I assume to be the original, the replacement you chose measures 1.88" wide by 1.56" long by 0.65" tall. This is pretty close, so the physical dimensions may be okay. However, the specifications of the replacement are not quite as powerful as the original. This transformer is only capable of 2VA and the original is at 6VA. It all depends on what the whole circuit consumes. 4VA difference might be enough where you burn out the transformer.
HM4845-ND may be a little better in terms of power capacity.
Hello Kaleb. I think , your recommendation of HM4845-ND certainly looks like it will fit the bill. I compared it to the drawing of the original, in my opinion, looks very identical. Operates at 6V and .025 ma. If you think, this is a good match, how do I go about ordering two of these?
Truly appreciate your assistance on this.
