------Question for 62731220621 Please Put your question below------
I am using Würth part number 62731220621 in an SMT reflow process and would like to confirm the thermal limits of the connector during reflow.
Could you please clarify:
What is the maximum peak temperature (Tp) that the component body can withstand during reflow?
The datasheet refers to J-STD-020, which would limit this part to 245C (h > 2.5mm, V > 350mm3). However my PCB assembler says they recommend parts rated for 250C or higher.
Hello,
Welcome to the DigiKey TechForum. I read this based off the dimensions l x w x h of the part being 350 cubic mm. The thickness should be the thickness of the plastic shroud which would be 5mm minus 3.4mm which gives a total thickness for both sides as 1.6mm. That’s the combined thickness of both sides so the thickness of one side is 0.8mm which puts Tc at 260C.
Thanks for the clarification! I was reading "package thickness " as package height (z-dimension), but I haven’t read the actual J-STD-020E and 260C seems more reasonable for this connector.
