Coded chip

Found a potentially coded chip that needs replacing on a regulator circuit. I’ll include photos of the chip and the circuit layout. Any info regarding this chip is much appreciated.

Hi, Rev_Eng.
It is a SY21051FCC, High Efficiency, 1A, 100V Input Synchronous Buck Converter.

I’m curious, how did you know what chip this is? I struggle when there isn’t a manufacture marking, is there some “manufacture code”? I’m genially interested in how you found that so quickly.

Rev_Eng,

To quickly identify microchips by their markings, you need to practice at a professional level. You won’t master this skill in two weeks. You need to be proficient in using online resources and have your own database built up over the years.

That’s what I was wondering, I have several sights for ID markings on chips however I haven’t figured out the coded ones yet. I know sometimes there isn’t a standard so it can be hard. I’ll see if I can dig for some of those coded symbols and how to ID them.

When searching for microchips, transistors, and so on, every detail is important. For example, your microchip is marked AWAESF. Based on my experience, I assumed it was a Silergy product. Unfortunately, several other companies also mark their microchips this way. There are minor differences in font, marking position, and so on. This requires experience and, of course, luck.
