Difference Between SLA and VRLA Batteries

The acronyms SLA (Sealed Lead Acid) and VRLA (Valve Regulated Lead Acid) both describe the same type of battery. A lead acid battery that includes the following features: Maintenance Free, Leak Proof, Position Insensitive. This kind of battery also features a safety relief valve that vents gas in the case of excessive pressure build-up inside the battery.
