Finding Solar Panel of Calculator Part

Hi, I recently had to take apart a calculator for a project where all the inside components will need to be used, and perfectly functioning. The outside casing will be replaced with my own 3D printed design. But the calculator I used had the solar panel screen slightly damaged when I attempted to take it out. The calculator is a TI-30X IIS, and the chip reads, ‘SONE SC - 1230 - 4 D - 24’. Sorry, I’m not sure what the part exactly/does, nor where I can get a replacement part. The battery seems to be a CR2032, which is like around 3 volts?

Hello @chilioil,

  1. Recommend you measure the output voltage of this solar cell under direct sun. With this information may be able to locate a replacement.

  2. Carefully observe the cell to determine if there are multiple internal sections.

  3. With this information we may be able to locate a substitute. A representative example is shown below. However, we would need the above information to recommend a suitable replacement as there are many components in the same family.

Sincerely,

Aaron

So sorry, but how would I go about doing this? I have a pretty surface level knowledge of this stuff.

Now worries, @chilioil,
