Harimatec offers a wide range of solder and rework products, including their 397952 flux-cored solder wire. A frequent question we receive for this and every other product at DigiKey is what the shelf life for the product is.
In this case, there is no definitive shelf life. When properly stored, flux-core solder wire is very stable and doesn’t readily degrade over time. Harimatec recommends a best-practice use-by date of five years, but this does not mean the material has “expired” after five years. Only that you wouldn’t go amiss from testing the material prior to committing to a production run with it.
