Incorrect image for DD44M4R7000/AA

------Question for DD44M4R7000/AA Please Put your question below------

I believe your image for this connector is incorrect, which has caused us much heartburn. Your image for this connector does not show the boardlocks and screwlocks. The connector from all other data sources does have these features. the base part number being the same as DD44M4R7000 but your images are very different. This has caused much confusion at our company.

Hello,

Welcome to the Techforum.

Yes that is not the exact image of this part as stated on the image :Image shown is a representation only. Exact specifications should be obtained from the product data sheet.

We get the images from the manufacturer to display as they see fit and you always want to verify with the datasheet for the correct part and options.

You can also email us at applications.engineering@digikey.com or call and we would be happy to get you the exact part you need.

Thank you
Ryan

Did you order and receive the DD44M4R7000/AA and discover that it does not look the same as the image? As @ryan_urness stated, the image is only a representation and may not match exactly, though we try to get an actual image whenever reasonably possible, but one can not strictly rely on just our image.

Regardless, looking at page 51 of the datasheet, it shows a part number breakdown for this series.

I believe that the “boardlock” you refer to is what they term as “push-on fasteners”, which would be called out in “Step 6 - HOODS AND PUSH-ON FASTENERS” as option “N”. This part has a “0” in that place, meaning “None”.

The screwlocks would be called out in “Step 7 - LOCKING AND POLARIZING SYSTEMS”. Again, this part has a “0” in this location and means “None”. The various locking mechanisms would have some other callout, such as “T2”.

Here’s an image of a part which does include boardlocks (a.k.a. push-on fastener) and screwlocks (a.k.a. female jackscrews). Note the different part number for these options:

So, unless I am misinterpreting this part number breakdown, which is certainly possible, it would seem that our image is a pretty good representation of the actual part, in this case.

Our concern is using the DD44M4R7000/AA as an alternate for DD44M4R7000.

So, the parts are the same regardless of the pictures (except for RoHS).

The picture for the DD44M4R7000 shows the board locks and screw-locks.

DD44M4R7000

DD44M4R7000/AA

Anyway, it’s been two months since I qualified the alternate and when asked to take a second look, the pictures confused me.

The person asking probably looked at the pictures.

Correct. The only difference between the two is that the “/AA” suffix part is RoHS compliant.

Yes, that’s what it shows, and that is an incorrect image. Looks like we got that generic image from Marketplace company PEI-Genesis.
