When looking up part numbers for USB connectors from JST, you may see the “NMP” suffix at the end of the orderable part numbers. One example would be UB-MC5BR3-SD204-4S-1-TB NMP.
JST has confirmed that the part number without the “NMP” replaced the part number with the “NMP” due to a resin change in the part. This change happened in 2021. Unfortunately, there is no PCN for this change. JST adds prefix and suffix combinations to track internal changes.
Sometimes, you may receive the original label of the part number without “NMP”. They are still a functional equivalent
