The main subject of this tutorial is to create a sliding door using a PLC controller, a set of push buttons, and a relay coil. The PLC will be programed using ladder logic to create a latching circuit that will keep the door from closing as soon as the button is released. I will talk about how to set up both a traditional latching circuit and a circuit using a pair of set and reset coils. Withing this tutorial I will also talk about the reason for the program layout and the naming convention that I used for the variables.
